NEMRC System FAQ

How to install NEMRC with Windows 7?

NEMRC, CAMA and Apex Medina in their current versions all will run under Windows 7 successfully.

This FAQ may be best performed by professional IT staff.

As with all NEMRC installations on new systems, the Foxpro runtime libraries are needed for installation. The file is named winbase.exe, and may already be found in the NEMRC folders. Running this file will install the runtime libraries. These are also found on NEMRC installation CD's (middle of page option to install foundation files), or by downloading from the web at www.nemrc.com/winrele/getbase.zip. Be sure to extract all to a folder, and run the getbase.bat file as an administrative user. Follow the prompts to install the runtime files to the working NEMRC folder. If necessary, change the default folder location to the working NEMRC folder location.

That should do the job.

However, the following steps may also be required:

  1. New shortcuts to the application may need to be created. Copying shortcuts from XP systems may not work properly.

  2. When opening NEMRC for the first time, it is recommended to right-click on the shortcut, and select "Run as Administrator" from the drop down menu. You will then see a confirmation screen to proceed, and please do proceed. Then log in to the module and entity as normal to see that works. This will register .dll files that may be needed during initial installation.

  3. It may also be necessary to manually register various .dll files as administrator. To do this, open Start Menu, Programs, Accessories, right click on Command Prompt. Select Run As Administrator. Change directories to the working NEMRC folder.

    1. Type: "regsvr32 (space) resi_update.dll" without the quotes or the text '(space)' , and press Enter

    2. Repeat, substituting condo_update.dll and comm_update.dll

    3. Type: exit to close the command prompt

    4. Run NEMRC module again to test. Log in to an entity.
